just a quick update on the last couple of weeks

unfortunately a bit of a mixed bag

I started well in France.  Lying 3rd place after day one but fell away over the past few days and finished 41st place.  A frustrating week as my game is starting to show promising signs.

I was then in Malaga last week where i was most certainly blown off course.  Literally.  High winds making scoring difficult and after a bad second round I ended up missing the cut.

Despite this im still very positive about where my game is at.

We are in Rome this week for our biggest event of then year so far.  A heatwave is forcast so it should suit my ginger skin perfctly! haha

No doubt plently of delicious italtian food will be consumed during the time im there and hopefully i can return home on sunday with a trophy.

Just an update on my performances over the last three weeks. I have made 2 cuts and missed 1( hand injury). Last week was adventurous at best. My game showed glimpses of my old self. 23 birdies and an Eagle in 72 holes, far too many errors. I ended in 21st  spot.

I feel it was a solid few weeks back after so long out. I have a week off this week before returning to Czech republic on the #Challenge tour on Monday, #Kaskada Golf resort, 72 holes, par 71, 7053 yds, starts 23rd May.

I have doing some practice this week and moving into a flat with my partner Victoria. I am going to have find a new gym partner, Gino, I will miss our mornings together. I here you are now boxing, a good reason for me to stay away!!! You gave me a battering before you could punch!!

Thursday and Friday this week, I am at the #Belfry with #ISM with some clients.

I hope you have reserved your spots for the 3rd of June at #Botteginos, I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and meeting you all. They are putting on a great spread for us, #Italian food at its best!

A big thank you again to Gino and Raf for their support.

Hello, #Chrislloyd here, I am at my first tournament of 22 this year on the Challenge tour in Turkey. The Tukish Airlines Challenge, 72 holes at Samsung GC, Atakum, Turkey,25 to 28th April.

Follow my progress http://www.europeantour.com/challengetour/index.html

I have my new clothes supplied by #Footjoy for this year sporting my sponsors logos.

My clothes this year a few sizes smaller due spending a large part of the winter in the #Gym with Gino.

I am grateful for the support of #Botteginos and #DouglasHomes for the 2019 season.

I did grab a few recipes before I left from Gino #Botteginos, stocking up before playing on the Finest Pasta will help me play my best. #italianresturants

I look forward to seeing you in the restaurant during the year.

‘I was quite pleased in Turkey to finish at 16 under par for the 4 days, despite only having my C game with me. The putter and wedge got me through. All in all, a good start, tied for 22nd. I am looking for a top 10 this week in Spain.

I arrived in Madrid late Monday, a gruelling 18 hour journey from Turkey. Challenge de Espana, at IZKI golf, Northern Spain, kicks off on 2nd of May. Follow at http://www.europeantour.com/challengetour/index.html

I am sharing a house this week with some #ISM colleagues and caddies. I have been designated cook due to my #botteginos connection. I think I will ask Gino or Raf for some ideas by Friday. Spag bowl is my favourite dish to prepare, not good enough for a job at #botteginos. May get a Raffalela pizza sent out for Thursday supper!!!

.................................................................................................................................................................................

Last week was a tough week for me, I picked up a hand injury during practice on Wednesday. I was well looked after by the medical team but even with pain killers, ice packs and Physio it never got better. Needless to say, my scores reflected my injury.

I have been instructed to rest from last Friday until late as possible tomorrow. I have travelled to Prague, a great City, for the #Prague Golf Challenge, at #Prague golf city. Par 72, 7156 yards, 9th to 12TH May. I hope to hit balls on Wednesday afternoon and be fit to play Thursday.

This injury has also made me give up my chef’s duties for a bit as well. #Italian cuisine as done by #Botteginos is off the menu for a bit. I have a week off next week, back in the Gym with Gino and stock up on some proper #pasta & #Pizza at #Emmerson Green.

I hope you all have a great week, maybe see you all next week’

Botteginos hits £20,000 fundraising milestone for The Grand Appeal

The family-run Italian restaurant in Emersons Green, Botteginos, is celebrating raising £20,000 for The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity; a milestone that was accomplished in just four years.

The Italian eatery’s achievement follows its announcement in March last year that it would aim to raise £6,000 more in order to reach its £20,000 goal through donations from the sale of breadsticks and olives at the restaurant, as well as a charity golf day held at Kendleshire Golf Club.

Botteginos’ supervisor Polly Evans said:

“We’re thrilled to have raised £20,000 and know that our donations will help to make a difference to the lives of patients at Bristol Children’s Hospital.

“As a local, family friendly restaurant, we understand the importance of community and that’s why we wanted to help our local children’s hospital and The Grand Appeal, a charity whose values really reflect what the Bristol community is all about.”

Helen Haskell, Corporate Partnerships Manager at The Grand Appeal said:

“Once again, the amazing team from Botteginos and its customers have outdone themselves! The £6,000 raised this year will be put towards transforming the lives of sick children and babies at Bristol Children’s Hospital and for that we will always be grateful. Thank you so much to everyone who made this possible. ”

The Grand Appeal funds state-of-the-art medical equipment, patient facilities, arts, music and play therapy and much-needed family accommodation at Bristol Children’s Hospital, helping to provide the very best care possible to critically-ill children and babies from across the South West of England, and further afield.
